Support Oklahoma Farmers

Dear [legislator_greeting],As one of your constituents, I urge you to support Oklahoma farmers and support legislation that would ensure their access to safe, innovative crop protection tools like pesticides, which are vital tools for farmers across our state. Absent legislative action, a potential catastrophe is on the horizon for American agriculture that will impact farmers across the country, and more importantly, all our dinner tables.At risk is the availability of Oklahoma farmers’ #1 tool to manage invasive weeds and keep yields high. Safe, approved tools like glyphosate are essential to Oklahoma farmers’ ability to keep costs low and ensure an affordable and abundant food supply. Without glyphosate, food inflation could more than double—forcing us to pay even higher prices at the grocery store.

Yet, despite the clear science behind the safety and benefits of this technology, a barrage of misinformation from anti-ag activists and often meritless lawsuits based on a single, outlier report by a World Health Organization subagency, are threatening our food supply and farmers’ livelihoods.Farmers need legislative certainty to protect access to all of the tools in their toolbox, including glyphosate. By reaffirming that the rigorous approval and labeling processes in place today—which often involves hundreds of scientific experts spending years reviewing thousands of studies—are enough to satisfy health and safety requirements, you can help Oklahoma farmers protect our food supply.
