Support Fair Access to Community Solar

I urge you to support the Fair Access to Community Solar Act (SB 5515/HB 1598), which will help democratize solar energy in Washington by making clean, affordable power accessible to more residents.

Many Washingtonians—including renters and families without suitable rooftops—are unable to install solar panels. Community solar solves this by offering a simple, subscription-based option for locally generated solar power.

Although Washington was home to the nation’s first community solar project, we now rank 32nd in community solar power generation. This legislation will allow more residents to benefit from lower energy bills, local clean energy jobs, and equitable access to solar power.

Please support the Fair Access to Community Solar Act (SB 5515/HB 1598) to help Washington achieve its clean energy goals while providing economic opportunities for our communities.
