Support expanded Obesity Treatments

I’m writing as your constituent to urge you to support legislation that would expand coverage for obesity management medications in Louisiana.

Obesity is a complex, chronic disease — and for many patients, medication prescribed by a healthcare provider is an essential part of their treatment plan, alongside nutrition, physical activity, and ongoing medical care. Right now, too many Louisiana patients are unable to access these treatments because their coverage doesn’t include them.

The Louisiana House has an opportunity to change that. I ask you to vote in favor of expanding obesity management medication coverage so that patients across our state have access to the full range of medically appropriate treatment options — and so their doctors are empowered to provide the best care possible.
