As a Northern Virginia resident, I am urging you to oppose the proposed casino in Tysons. This project will have serious negative impacts, not just for Tysons but for surrounding communities. Our roads – including Routes 7, 123, and 28 as well as major highways like the Dulles Toll Road and the Dulles Greenway and interstates including I-495, I-66 and I-95 – are already overburdened. A 24/7 casino would bring even more traffic and gridlock to our region, harming commuters and residents alike.
Additionally, our communities will be forced to bear the brunt of these impacts without seeing any of the promised benefits. Local businesses will face declining revenue and we will suffer from reduced quality of life. We don’t need a casino, and this is not the right direction for our region.
Please stand with your constituents and say no to this proposal.
