Dear Lawmaker,
Pennsylvania is caught in a “probation to prison” trap that results in never-ending supervision and feeds mass incarceration. These policies are costing our state hundreds of millions of dollars, yet failing to make any measurable improvements to public safety. It’s time to try something different. The best way to safely decrease mass incarceration and improve public safety is to reform probation. Please turn your attention to criminal justice reform, especially any efforts to fix our broken probation system.
