Protect Obesity treatment coverage in Rhode Island

I’m writing as a Rhode Islander to urge you to protect coverage for obesity management medications.

Obesity is a complex, chronic disease affecting many individuals and families across our state. For some patients, medications prescribed by a healthcare provider are an important part of a comprehensive treatment plan — alongside nutrition, physical activity, and ongoing medical care. Eliminating this coverage would take away a critical tool that patients and their doctors rely on.

I ask you to stand with Rhode Island patients and oppose any policy that would remove or restrict obesity management medication coverage. Patients deserve access to the full range of medically appropriate treatment options — and their doctors should be empowered to provide it.
