Protect Apple Health & Medicaid for Central Washingtonians

Dear Congressman Newhouse:

As your constituent, I’m deeply concerned about Congressional efforts to cut funding for Washington State Apple Health and Medicaid. I am asking you to strongly oppose any efforts to reduce or restrict health care or long-term care access.

Nearly 300,000 people in our Congressional District depend on Medicaid for Apple Health and long-term care, including 62% of Central Washington’s young children under 6.

The proposed cuts to Medicaid would devastate our region by:

* Denying health care and medications to tens of thousands of Central Washington’s children, pregnant women, veterans, people with cancer, diabetes, disabilities, and other serious health issues.

* Hurting Central Washington’s small businesses

* Cutting jobs in Central Washington communities

* Making it harder for people in rural areas to access health care

* Increasing our medical debt & bankruptcy

* Increasing our state taxes by shifting billions in Apple Health and Medicaid costs to Washington’s low and middle income families

Please oppose any and all cuts to Apple Health and Medicaid. We are depending on you to fight for us. Thank you for your support.
