Please Reverse Massachusetts’ Kratom Order

Dear Governor Healey and Department of Public Health Officials,

As a Massachusetts resident, I am writing to respectfully ask you to reverse the state’s recent order restricting all kratom products, including natural kratom leaf.

Responsible adults who have lawfully consumed natural kratom leaf for years should not suddenly face criminal consequences because of concerns surrounding dangerous new concentrated synthetic products.

I support efforts to protect young people and consumers. However, Massachusetts should distinguish between natural kratom leaf and concentrated synthetic 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) rather than treating them the same.

I should not become a criminal simply for continuing to use a natural botanical product that I have consumed responsibly and legally for years.

I respectfully urge you to reverse this order and pursue a targeted approach that protects consumers and prevents youth access while focusing enforcement on dangerous concentrated synthetic products.
