Please Exempt Natural Kratom Leaf From the County Health Order
Here’s copy of email we will send your behalf:
Dear County Executive McCoy and Dr. Navarette,
I am writing as an Albany County resident to express concern about the public health order issued on August 21 banning the sale and distribution of all kratom products, set to take effect September 1.
This order does not distinguish between natural kratom leaf, used responsibly by millions of adults, and concentrated synthetic 7-OH, which raises legitimate safety concerns. New York State and Dutchess County have already taken a targeted approach — banning the synthetic while preserving adult access to natural leaf.
As Albany County finalizes a permanent policy, I respectfully urge you to revisit this order and exempt natural kratom leaf, following the model the state and Dutchess County have already put in place, rather than banning natural leaf outright.
[Insert your personal experience, reason for concern, or perspective here — for example, how natural kratom leaf has affected your life, work, or wellness.]
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
[Your Full Name]
