National Coalition for Public Schools

Here is a copy of the letter we will send to your lawmakers:

Children experiencing learning loss, whose needs were being ignored, found a safe and nurturing, online learning environment in the virtual schools started during the pandemic. Now, these schools are at risk. House Bill 1468, which would have kept these schools open, failed on the last day of the session because of a legislative walkout. Now many parents face uncertainty. Several hundred families had already enrolled their children in these schools for the next school year. You can do something. Just because the legislature dropped the ball doesn’t mean the fight is over. You can tell Governor Abbott to use his executive authority to extend the emergency order for virtual schools. Write a letter to Gov. Abbott today!
