Do not ban Natural Kratom Leaf

Dear Council Member,

I am writing as a resident to express concern about the proposed kratom ban, which includes natural kratom leaf products, that is currently being considered in Scranton.

Many adults use natural kratom leaf responsibly, and it is important that policymakers distinguish between natural kratom leaf products and novel synthetic or highly concentrated substances that may raise legitimate safety concerns but are not, and should not, be conflated with natural kratom leaf products.

A blanket ban does not address those differences and risks eliminating access for responsible consumers while failing to focus on the products that may pose greater risks.

I respectfully urge you to take a more informed, targeted approach that prioritizes public health while preserving responsible access.
