Defend our Vets !

I write to you as a constituent deeply committed to the welfare of our veterans, advocating for HB 5419. Unlike HB 5043 which is well-intentioned but falls short, HB 5419 strikes a critical balance, offering protection against predatory practices while ensuring veterans continue to benefit from the expertise of reputable private consultants in navigating the VA’s disability claims process.

HB 5419 specifically addresses the dual need to shield our veterans from claim sharks, who may exploit their pursuit of benefits, and to preserve their access to the invaluable guidance provided by legitimate, expert consultants. This approach not only enhances the support system for our veterans but also upholds their right to make informed choices about their claims. It’s a comprehensive measure that respects the dignity of service members by providing them with options protected from exploitation.

I urge you to support HB 5419 and oppose HB5043, affirming a commitment to our veterans’ best interests by promoting a safe and efficient pathway through the VA benefits system.
