Stop legalizing slot machines

 I am writing to express my strong opposition to any effort to legalize video lottery terminals in Missouri. You campaigned on Christian values, which makes it deeply troubling that your first legislative priority is to legalize slot machines in our community.

There are currently thousands of illegal slot machines infesting our communities, exploiting individuals struggling with addiction, preying on those facing financial hardships, and eroding the stability of our neighborhoods. Eradicating these machines is the answer, not rewarding the types of companies that are already breaking our laws by making them legal.

Missouri’s priority should be fostering strong, healthy communities and addressing the root causes of hardship—not profiting from the exploitation of its citizens. I urge you to withdraw this legislation and focus on policies that uplift and protect Missourians.
