Please vote yes on HB398 for working veterans

I’m a Virginia veteran and constituent, and I’m asking you to support HB398.

I work full time. The idea that every veteran can take time off repeatedly to chase paperwork or sit on hold is just not real life. VSOs are helpful, but they’re stretched and appointment windows can be hard to get. Paid assistance gives veterans another path, especially for people balancing jobs, kids, and health issues.

HB398 strikes me as the reasonable middle ground. Keep paid help legal, but require written agreements and clear disclosures. Make sure vets know about free services so nobody is misled. Put guardrails around compensation structures so fees are predictable. Protect sensitive data. And require basic standards like certifications or accreditations.

Veterans deserve choice and protection at the same time. Please support HB398.
