Pay Our County Workers fairly!

Dear El Dorado County Board of Supervisors:

El Dorado County is growing fast and we need to keep our County safe and healthy.  We need to retain high quality sheriff security officers, librarians, construction workers, nurses, clean air and health inspectors to keep our families, businesses, and communities safe and healthy.

But El Dorado County’s hard working employees are paid far below what others make in neighboring counties. In fact, the county pays 44% of its employees less than the low income threshold. The other 45% make below the very low income threshold.

No wonder El Dorado County is struggling to keep good workers. If El Dorado County is going to keep growing, we need to keep up by paying our county workers fair wages so they can live and raise a family here.
