Leaders in Washington are tirelessly working to find solutions to the rising costs of prescription medicines, however the current drug pricing plan making its way through Congress includes a hidden 95 percent tax increase that will put America’s most vulnerable patients at risk of losing access to prescription drugs they need. Black adults are nearly twice as likely as white adults to develop type 2 diabetes. Therefore, if this 95 percent drug tax is implemented, many Black Americans will face either soaring prices at the pharmacy counter or serious medical complications, including death. We must stop the 95 percent drug tax. Lives depend on it. Reach out to your legislator and demand they vote against this harmful measure.
