Fairness for SF Retirees
Here is a copy of the letter we will send to your lawmakers:
I am writing to you about an urgent matter affecting 4,500 retired city workers, many of whom are now being forced to live on poverty pensions as low as $22,000 a year.
After a lifetime of serving the City of San Francisco as teachers, bus drivers, court workers, facility managers and more, our most vulnerable seniors have suffered a grave injustice – their promise of a secure and dignified retirement has been broken – all due to a change in the City’s charter in 2011.
The clock is ticking. Please honor these most senior city workers by asking the Board of Supervisors to support an amendment on the Nov. 2022 ballot to restore benefits for retirees.
