Dear Governor,

I am writing to you today to thank you for vetoing S.18.

Your thoughtful consideration of the implications and consequences of such legislation demonstrates your commitment to both public health and the economic issues facing our state.

I firmly believe that a blanket ban on flavored tobacco and nicotine products would have had unintended consequences, including pushing consumers towards unregulated and potentially more harmful alternatives, and impacting local businesses and jobs.

Your veto highlights the importance of finding balanced and effective solutions to complex issues. I commend your willingness to listen to various perspectives and make decisions that prioritize the well-being of Vermont’s citizens while also preserving personal choice and economic interests.
