Support Legislation to Lower Healthcare Costs

I am writing to urge you to support the bipartisan Fair Billing Act. Americans deserve transparency and fairness in our healthcare bills.

Too often, hospital systems charge hidden “facility fees” even when care is delivered in a doctor’s office or clinic miles from a hospital. These fees drive up costs for families and their employers without improving the quality of care.

The Fair Billing Act would require hospitals to use unique billing identification numbers for each off-campus location, making bills clearer and helping protect patients from unfair charges. Same care should mean the same cost, no matter where it’s provided.
