Bring the “Fix our Forests Act” to the Senate Floor
Wildfires are becoming larger and more destructive, fueled by decades of poor forest management. To protect communities, maintain forests as vital carbon sinks, and ensure they thrive for future generations, we must act now. Strengthening our capacity for active forest management and providing communities with the resources to address this growing threat is critical.
I urge you to bring the Fix Our Forests Act to a Senate floor vote before the end of the year. The bill addresses this growing challenge by accelerating forest management in high-risk areas, creating a Fireshed Center for improved coordination, supporting community resilience planning, and investing in reseeding and reforestation to restore healthy forests after fires.
Earlier this year, the House passed the Fix Our Forests Act with bipartisan support (279-141), and the Senate Agriculture Committee recently advanced the bill with similar bipartisan support (18-5). The bill is also supported by a large and diverse coalition of organizations. It’s time for the full Senate to act; we cannot wait for the next disaster.
I ask that you bring the Fix Our Forests Act to the Senate floor so it can be passed, delivering real solutions to protect our communities and forests. Thank you.
