Put Bonds on the Ballot

To Councilmember:

I just signed a petition to ask you to go to the voters with any new bond issuance, especially revenue or general obligation bond or water rate increase or bond issuance that will likely cause a future water rate increase.

As you already know, voters like myself have approved sales tax increases for roads, public safety and many other purposes.

Voters like me are willing to make difficult financial decisions for the benefit of the good of our community and after eight straight years of water rate increases and now spending our road money on closing roads and the lanes I use daily to work for my family, it’s time to ask voters when further sacrifices are needed.

I and all the voters that are signing this petition urge you to ask voters before you obligate us any further through bonds or utility rate increases if we agree.

We are watching out of concern and know you will do the right thing and put these important proposals on the next available election ballot.
