I’m writing as a proud New Yorker to express my support for Freedom Plaza—a transformative project that directly responds to the needs of our neighborhoods.Over 500 affordable homes, helping to address our city’s housing crisis with units that are truly within reach for local families.

17,000 union jobs that strengthen the local workforce and support working families.Nearly 5 acres of new green space, giving our community room to gather, play, and breathe—something sorely lacking in this part of Manhattan.Up to $150 million in equity for eligible East Side residents, ensuring that longtime neighbors can share in the project’s success.Billions in local reinvestment, boosting small businesses, supporting community services, and creating economic momentum in the East Side community and beyond.

Freedom Plaza has been designed with our community in mind, and its operating partner, Mohegan, has a strong record of being a responsible, community-oriented partner that uplifts and invests in local neighborhoods.

We have an opportunity to deliver housing, jobs, open space, and opportunity right here on the East Side.I urge you and the Community Advisory Committee to support Freedom Plaza and help make this vision a reality.
