We need affordable Eye Care

Affordable, accessible eye care is essential to everyday life. Many Nevada residents and their families depend on access to vision care that they can afford, but that is threatened by recent state legislation, AB 448, which would drive up costs for constituents like me.

In recent years, we have seen health insurance costs rise by nearly 30%, and nearly two thirds of Nevadans are concerned about whether they can afford health care. With recent inflation, we are paying more than $1,100 more per month for the same goods and services as we were in 2021.

To put it simply, AB 448 is too expensive. In fact, it could mean a loss of up to $600 in value for Nevadans who need eye care and glasses. We can’t afford legislation that will continue to drive up costs and limit accessibility.

Opposing AB 448 is not only the right option for constituents like me, but also for all hardworking Nevadans who rely on affordable care to live, work, and learn.
