Take Action this Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Dear Rep/Sen,

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. And during this month, we acknowledge the devastating impacts that tobacco products have on our health. Lung cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in the United States, and 85% of lung cancer deaths are caused by smoking. Tobacco use remains the leading cause of preventable death in the U.S.

In 2025, you can take action to protect the health of Oregonians by supporting ending the sale of flavored tobacco products – including minty menthol cigarettes and dessert-flavored little cigars.

Groups like the American Lung Association, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, American Heart Association, Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, and parents, doctors and nurses across Oregon are advocating for ending the sale of flavored tobacco. You should too.

Please pass legislation to end the sale of flavored tobacco in 2025.

Thank you,
