Help Support Student Learning Loss Grants In TN
Here is a copy of the letter we will send to your lawmakers:
Letter: Email to HOUSE:
Dear Members of the House K-12 Subcommittee,
Beacon Impact, the sister advocacy organization of the Beacon Center, urges you to vote yes on HB2774, the “More Opportunities for Students in Tennessee” (MOST) Act by Chairman Todd.
The MOST Act creates a short-term grant program for families to help address student learning loss because of the COVID-19 pandemic. No demographic has been impacted more than children due to school shutdowns. In fact, test scores have dropped over 5% since 2019 due to disruptions in education.
Under the MOST Act, parents will receive grants funded by federal COVID-19 education dollars in the amount of $3,000, that can be used for services like tutoring, educational therapy, textbooks, technology, and other educational expenses.
Students in Tennessee need and deserve every resource to help them catch up from the disruption the pandemic caused in their education. The MOST Act ensures that those who are most vulnerable are given the resources and flexibility to address their unique needs.
We ask that you vote “YES” on HB2774.

Subject: Please vote yes for microgrants
There is a new bill, the “More Opportunities for Students in Tennessee” (MOST) Act (HB2774/SB2389) that gives families grants to help students recover from the learning loss they faced during the pandemic.
Tennessee students need and deserve every resource to help them catch up from the disruption the pandemic caused in their education. The $3,000 grants will give parents and children the ability to spend on tutoring, educational therapy, textbooks, and other educational expenses to get our children back on track.
I hope you will support giving Tennessee students the resources to get back on track and vote “YES” on the MOST Act.
