Please support the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act

Dear [Legislator Name],

I’m writing as your constituent to ask you to support the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act (CRGA Act, HB 4116/SB 25) — commonsense energy legislation that will lower utility costs for Illinois families and businesses.

Right now, energy prices are rising fast. My household — and many others — are feeling the strain. ComEd customers saw their bills increase by over $10 on June 1, and Ameren customers saw increases as high as $46. That’s not sustainable.

The CRGA Act would expand energy storage — the fastest and most cost-effective way to lower energy bills and strengthen our grid. According to the Illinois Power Agency and other experts, battery storage could save customers up to $20.54 per month by 2035.

These projects require no upfront costs from ratepayers. Once they come online, the savings would more than offset the costs — putting real money back in people’s pockets.

Lawmakers ran out of time last session before passing this important bill. I urge you to make it a top priority when you return to Springfield.

Illinois families like mine are counting on it.
